Good news!

The Environment Agency has been able to reopen Nanny Moores Bridge this morning, due to excellent progress made by the construction team. Safety fencing has been put up, but please do take care in the area.

They will keep the bridge open for the October half term holiday, but the bridge will need to be closed again for a minimum of three weeks in November/December – exact dates available nearer the time.

The Agency does advise that they may have to close the bridge for safety reasons at short notice. At various times during the work, there are exposed edges to the river and open excavations in the ground, alongside potentially dangerous machinery. The safety of the team and the public is of utmost priority.
