A planning application has been submitted for development at the Beach At Bude Hotel, which is currently a luxury boutique hotel on Summerleaze Crescent. The changes are substantial, involving partial demolition and the creation of 8 new residential homes (previously permission was given for 4) but there are no comments at the moment. The application, PA23/07347, is viewable here where you can also see images of what the proposal would look like.

The proposal is for the redevelopment of the existing building to provide new residential dwellings (Use Class C3) together with associated works and landscaping.

The Design and Access Statement says:

The proposal seeks to redevelop the existing Beach Hotel site to create x 8 new dwellings.

The site currently has planning permission for the creation of x 4 large town houses on the site. (ref.
PA20/08826) for the partial demolition, extension and change of use of the existing hotel to provide
four residential dwellings with associated works, landscaping and car parking.

It adds:

The existing consent requires the majority of the existing building to be demolished. With a large
portion of the original removed it provides an opportunity to increase the efficiency of layout and
provide additional dwellings within the existing site maximising the sites potential. This application
proposes the replacement of the existing hotel with a building containing 8 new self-contained
residences being 4 Maisonettes on Ground and First floor and 4 Duplex Apartments on Second and
third floors
