The 6th Annual General Meeting of Connect Bude is to be held at The Falcon Hotel, Bude, on Saturday 21 October 2023 from 11.00 to 12.30.

Members of the public are welcome, but only fully paid-up members will be able to vote on any proposals presented at the meeting. Supporters will not be allowed to vote.

Connect Bude now has approaching 500 members and supporters, including 18 Corporate Members. People wishing to become Individual Members (£10 per person), Corporate Members (£20 per business) and Supporters (£Free) can do so at the meeting or via e-mail to connect.bude@gmail.com

Connect Bude is supporting colleagues at OkeRail in their drive to promote and support the new
daily train service from Okehampton to Exeter which started in November 2021. Passenger numbers have so far significantly exceeded expectations. Stagecoach has introduced
a connecting bus service from Bude to Okehampton Station, which gives access to the train service to Crediton and Exeter.

The group also supports TavyRail, who are recently reformed to promote the project to reopen the railway line between Bere Alston and Tavistock. This will enable a new train service between
Tavistock and Plymouth to be introduced. If that is successful, then there will be further pressure to reopen the line from Tavistock to Okehampton to complete the “Northern Route”.
