It is becoming a perennial question. Why is petrol/diesel so expensive in Bude?
Today, at Morrisons, the price of petrol and diesel was the same at 155.9 per litre. (Morrisons More points are currently at 10 per litre for what it’s worth).
The price at the Shell garage wasn’t displayed, but I believe is 157.9 for diesel.
Meanwhile, in Bideford, Morrisons is charging 150.7, as is Asda, while Blights at Clovelly Road, Bideford (Esso) is 149.6 and you get Nectar points.
So, what is the issue? Why is there such a huge difference between Bude and Bideford? Does anyone have a rational reason?
Is Bude’s petrol so expensive because there is no competition to keep prices lower, or is simply because they can – as there is no alternative place for drivers to go?
In a recent comment on this site, a visitor mentioned the extortionate price of fuel in Bude, and they seem to have a point. Share your views.
Have an organised week where everyone in this area simply boycotts both garages, both for food and fuel etc?
We all moan on sites like this, but don’t actually do anything, so the businesses simply laugh at us.
Visited this week and jeees it’s ridiculous the price of fuel in Bude!! Morrisons should be ashamed of themselves …
