Some wonderful news amongst the doom and gloom From Bude Fire Service and Bude Coastguard Rescue Team, who were called out yesterday to reports of a spaniel dog wedged amongst the boulders on Summerleaze beach. The scared dog had been found by two girls at the beach, but couldn’t be reached.

There sadly appeared to be no owner with the dog, but some members of the public comforted the animal until rescuers arrived and after a great team effort, she was released unharmed and taken to Tamar Vets where her microchip was scanned.

Ruby, the spaniel had strayed from her owner and became lost, but she has now been safely reunited with her owner – a great outcome – and a highlight to the importance of microchipping our pets.
