In December, 2022, an application to create a new care home in Bude was submitted to Cornwall Council.

It is a hybrid application seeking full planning permission for the partial demolition of the existing An Mor hotel and outline planning permission with all matters reserved for the development of a new up to 50 bed care home together with associated parking and open space.

The application, PA22/09629, has attracted few public comments so far but there are a number of consultee comments.

Councillor Peter La Broy says: The open grassy area to the seaward side was recently converted into an open air bar; this area is now the site for a proposed 50 bedroom care home.

He adds:

This will be in front of the Town Council Planning Committee on Wednesday 11th January at 15.00hrs. I think this will make a dramatic change to this zone and I’d be very interested to hear from anyone locally that has any opinion – good or bad – on this application.
