Bude Library has had lots of events recently, to engage the community, especially with half-term events for children. One success was the recent coffee morning which raised £122.37 for “Wear It Pink” for breast cancer.

There is more good news …
The Home Library Service for housebound residents will cease to be run by Cornwall Council in January 2023. However, its survival has been secured by Bude & Stratton Town Council.
BSTC’s Library Manager, Sally Travers-Clapp, explained how important this service is: “The housebound service is invaluable to the community and surrounding areas. It is so much more than just a book drop/collection service – more of a befriending service and quite often the volunteers are the only point of human contact our customers have.”
“They chat, introduce new authors and recommendations over a cup of tea. It’s a point of contact with the outside world and a sense that somebody cares.”
The Home Delivery Service is available to anyone who is housebound, not just the elderly. So if you’re recovering from illness or injury, or, for example, suffer from agoraphobia, and would love to have some reading material or audio books delivered to you, please get in touch with the Library team.
You can call the Library on 0300 123 4111, email them on bude.library@liscornwall.org.uk or follow them on Facebook and send them a DM Bude Library and Information Service
Great work by the Library staff and volunteers, and the amazing Royal Voluntary Service team who are continuing to run the Home Library Service
