The snow has all but gone, but the Met Office is warning of ice later today into tomorrow between 16.00 and 11.00. From the map, it seems like our area is set to escape it. Icy inland and mainly in Devon, not Cornwall, so if you are travelling more widely, do be careful.
Icy stretches will be the main hazard on Saturday evening, overnight and Sunday morning.
- Icy stretches on many untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, particularly where snow is lying.
- Increased likelihood of accidents and injuries due to icy surfaces.
After dark, temperatures will fall rapidly and untreated wet surfaces, particularly those where snow has partially melted and then refreezes, will become very icy in affected areas.
