Yay, it’s British Summer Time

Don’t forget, today marks the start of British Summer Time. I beat the birds to wake up today, but they have just started their dawn chorus here at 6.07!

So darker mornings for a while but lighter evenings, longer days. If you’re not digital, don’t forget to change your clocks – they go forward by one hour.

In the UK the clocks go forward 1 hour at 1 am on the last Sunday in March, and back 1 hour at 2 am on the last Sunday in October.

The period when the clocks are 1 hour ahead is called British Summer Time (BST). There’s more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings (sometimes called Daylight Saving Time).

When the clocks go back, the UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
