Budehaven A Level Economics and Business students recently attended an interesting presentation by Applegate Marketing.
Year 13 students have many options once they have completed their A-Levels; apprenticeships is one example. Applegate is a digital organisation that matches businesses with suppliers. In essence, the company was described by Jo Nancekivell, the presenter, as “Ebay for businesses.” Applegate has many departments, such as HR, Marketing, finance and purchasing. An apprenticeship called the ‘Workplace Degree Programme’ is an option for students.
Students can attend Plymouth University and work for Applegate at the same time. Mrs Sansom, the Head of Economics said: “this is a great opportunity, well paid with the added bonus of an Honours Degree in Business Management.”
Budehaven Sixth Form has an outstanding track record for performance as well as offering a relevant and worthwhile enrichment programme, providing advice and guidance for the next step, whether it be university or going into employment.
