Police are appealing for witnesses to a single-vehicle collision near Barnstaple which left two people with serious injuries.
Emergency services were called at 3.25am today [Friday 16 March] to the collision on an unclassified road just north of Snapper.
A silver Vauxhall Corsa left the road and collided with a tree.
The passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Lynton, sustained critical injuries and was taken to North Devon District Hospital where she remains.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Lynmouth, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for nine hours while police carried out investigations at the scene.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to the collision and to anyone who may have seen the vehicle travelling in the area prior to the incident.
