I must admit that this kind of thing irritates me. Some months ago, I was asked my views on a paint colour for a new Dulux shade of blue. How would I describe Bude? I replied. Was I then advised of the outcome? No. Was I sent a press release? No.
So, I read this morning on Pirate FM’s site that Breakwater Blue is the official colour of Bude (maybe they will donate some to paint Nanny Moore’s Bridge, just a thought).
Pirate FM says:
To celebrate the official opening of the new Dulux Decorator Centre in Bude, the store asked the town’s mayor Bob Willingham, community groups and local decorators to help define what the Cornish town represents.
Locals demonstrated their fondness for the smashing waves of the sea, the picturesque breakwater and the often bright blue skies – providing the inspiration to the Dulux Trade Commercial Colour Services team for the newly named colour of Bude ‘Breakwater Blue’.
Apparently, three-quarters of people suggested some shade of blue. Anyway, you can read more about it on the Pirate FM link above. Did Dulux get it right? Share your views here.
