A number of high-speed trains due to run between Paddington and Penzance have been cancelled by Great Western Railway.
The company says a number of Class 800 series Hitachi trains (they have 93 of them) in use by several train companies have been withdrawn from service for precautionary safety checks, after cracks were found in some carriages. Disruption could continue into next week.
This route (among others) is affected:
- London Paddington – Reading – Taunton – Exeter St Davids – Plymouth – Penzance.
