The exciting technology helping ocean clean ups

OVER 5 TRILLION PIECES OF PLASTIC CURRENTLY LITTER THE OCEAN – Bude is at the forefront of ocean clean ups and while the concept of a robot boat is hard to get your head around, this website gives lots of useful information.

On the 3rd of November, Bude is fortunate has Phil Johnston from Autonaut coming down to Rosie’s kitchen for an informal talk and a Q&A session.

Phil works for Autonaut, supporting a wave-propelled robot boat for the big ocean clean up.

The Autonaut boat is a small 5m boat that runs alongside the massive clean up boom and keeps an eye out for ocean currents and anything that would be a potential danger to the boom. The brains and engineering for the project are located here in Bude!

The talk starts at 7:30 pm at Rosie’s Kitchen on Saturday 3rd November.
