The Barrel Auction – the first 6 lots

The Barrel in Bude is running a rather decent auction to support local boy Corey Alway, who has significant health issues.

It takes place on Saturday, June 22nd and is for a brilliant cause.

Lot 1. A decorative genuine surfboard is similar to the one shown, featuring Barrel Rock. Ready to hang. Painted by local artist Lynne Holehouse. Estimated value £650.

Lot 2. Enjoy a restaurant experience in your on home. Todd Varnedoe ex-Head Chef, La Bouche Creole will cook for up to four people. Todd will cover the cost of the food, you provide the drink. Menus and food preferences to be discussed. Guide price £150. Bidding on the day in person and online. Sealed bids in advance.

 

Lot 3.  A day at Atlantic Distillery helping to make some of their core range of organic gins before using a small still to create your own unique bottle of Navy strength gin (57% ABV). Guide price £150. Bid in person on the day or live online, (Facetime Live). Bids can be submitted in advance by email to contact@thebarrelatbude.com

 

Lot 4.  The man behind Mr Jopling’s sausages is offering a hands-on experience learning how to butcher a pig, make sausage, bacon and other charcuterie. The day includes a ‘bangers and mash’ lunch. Estimated between £180 – £250.

Lot 5.  A beautiful four string guitar built around a Midleton Irish whiskey box donated by Brian Newman and converted by Jeff Sacreé. This beautiful guitar has an oak neck with walnut fingerboard; Gold hardware and hand wound pickup with brass sound holes and an output jack. Estimate £180 – £250. Lot 6. A beer/cup of tea and a chat with Martin Dorey together with signed copies of his books. Martin Dorey is a writer, author, part-time presenter, (Campervan Cookbook) and environmental activist – creator of The 2 Minute Beach Clean initiative. Guide estimate between £100 – £150.
