It has been a tough week for rescue services in Bude and from surrounding areas and the holiday season isn’t even really underway yet.
With the rescue of children from the cliffs at Compass Point and the traumatic work completed at Sandymouth this week, plus no doubt lots of less high-profile events we don’t know about, I’d like to say a big thank you to all the teams involved in working so brilliantly together to try to keep people safe and help them when they are not.
The coastguard, police, fire service, RNLI, lifeguards and many others have all pulled together amazingly this week and that’s just the view from the outside. It’s hard to express how awesome their hard work, community spirit and tenacity in incredibly difficult circumstances are.
It reflects so well the spirit that makes people in Bude and the surrounding area so proud of where they live and of the incredible people we have here.
Thanks so much to the emergency services. Where would we be without you?
