SW Covid update

It was good to see people queueing for the vaccination drop-in at Bude earlier (and yesterday). Hope everyone was able to be seen.

Up to 28th November, we see that cases were up in Cornwall to 2985, a case rate of 518.7 per 100,000. Devon cases were also up for the same period to 5438, a rate of 670.8

In Torridge, cases hit 728, a case rate of 1,059.4, while in Bude & Stratton, numbers hit 95, a case rate of 896.3. Poundstock and Kilkhampton was also still very high with 79 cases, 1,037.6 per 100,000.

Cases in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

653 new people had a confirmed positive test result reported on 3 December 2021.

Between 27 November 2021 and 3 December 2021, 3,427 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 16.6% compared to the previous 7 days.

Vaccinations in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

Vaccines are currently given in 2 doses, at least 21 days apart.

453,651 people had been given a first dose by the end of 2 December 2021.

421,818 people had been given a second dose by the end of 2 December 2021.

Healthcare in Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust

Some people with coronavirus have to go into hospital.

Between 22 November 2021 and 28 November 2021, 17 went into hospital with coronavirus. This shows a decrease of -39.3% compared to the previous 7 days.

There were 20 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 30 November 2021.

There were 2 coronavirus patients in hospital beds with a mechanical ventilator on 30 November 2021.

Deaths in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

There were 2 deaths within 28 days of a positive test for coronavirus reported on 3 December 2021.

Between 27 November 2021 and 3 December 2021, there have been 7 deaths within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test. This shows an increase of 16.7% compared to the previous 7 days.
