Stabbing in Holsworthy

Arrest

Detectives have launched an investigation following a fight in Holsworthy that left one man hospitalised with stab wounds.

Police and ambulance were called at 00.40am on Wednesday 6 June following reports of a man having been stabbed a number of times following a fight involving multiple men in North Road, Holsworthy.

The victim, a 29-year-old local, man sustained ten stab wounds, of which two were described as more serious.

Air ambulance attended but victim refused to go in it, so he was later taken to North Devon district Hospital by land ambulance.

The man is currently in a stable condition and his injuries are not life-threatening.

An investigation is underway and the police and local authority are working together to address the issues that have been effecting the community and the residents in the area.

A 26-year-old man from Holsworthy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in police custody.
