Spring in February …

OK, I’m waiting for the catch. Washing is on the line, birds are singing, the sky is blue, the heating is off and the windows are open.

Spring, yay!

But, it is February. February is officially winter. So, are we due to have a nasty weather shock? Apart from a cold spell next weekend, it is looking remarkably good. Remember on 2nd March last year we had snow and frozen rain.

Well, on my dog walk this morning, I noticed a few changes, as you do when you walk. There are starlings everywhere and have been for some days now (amazing to watch) and there are also a wondrous amount of hazel catkins. The snowdrops are fading but colour is arriving in the shape of gorse, primroses and daffodils.  Get out there and enjoy the slightly unseasonable spring.
