Snow and ice update

Snow on country lane in North DevonWell, the Met Office has upgraded its weather warning for Bude to amber for snow, wind and ice. Tomorrow is a yellow warning for overnight snow.

Thursday is a yellow warning for wind and snow all day and an amber warning for snow and ice after 2pm.

Friday is a yellow warning for wind and snow, as is Saturday. Then, thankfully, temperatures rise! Accuweather is still predicting that snow will turn to rain on Friday. The BBC is also talking about wind and snow, then turning to rain.

Once again, the forecasts are all slightly at odds. Keep safe.

Bude Community Fire Station on its Facebook page offers good advice:

The Met Office has upgraded the warning of snow to AMBER for Cornwall (including the Bude area). Amber warnings mean highly likely and come with a high impact. The warning is currently in force from Thursday between 14:00 and Friday 08:00 hrs. There is also a yellow warning in all week, with temperatures expected to drop well below zero degrees. Despite roads being heavily gritted, ice will definitely cause problems on the roads. We strongly advise avoiding driving if possible and if the journeys are essential, then please take extreme care in the icy conditions.
