Between 00:05 Sun 18th and 18:00 Sun 18th, the Met Office is forecasting snow with parts of the SW on an amber warning. This is not specifically for Bude which may have snow showers, but currently not looking like amounting to much. The hardest hit will be parts of North and mid-Devon, into Somerset and S Wales. It will be mighty cold though and probably icy so do take care on the roads. If travelling, it’s always worth taking extra blankets and a spade!
Worst cases: the potential is for a spell of snow, moving west over southwest Britain on Saturday night and become locally heavy on Sunday. Strong easterly winds will lead to some drifting of snow. Travel delays on roads are likely, stranding some vehicles and passengers. Some delays and cancellations to rail and air travel are likely. There is a good chance that some rural communities could become cut off with some disruption to power supplies.
