From Devon & Cornwall Police website:
Police are appealing to the public following an aggravated burglary in North Devon.
The incident took place at a cottage in Welcombe, Torridge, between 9-10pm on Saturday 15 September.
Detective Constable Ben Cartwright from Bideford CID, said: “Two black men wearing balaclavas with regional accents from the West Midlands forced entry into a house whilst armed.
“The occupants were holidaymakers visiting the area from Hampshire. They were tied up and assaulted before the suspects stole phones and cash before fleeing the area.
“We are currently of the belief that this was a case of mistaken identity and the wrong property and people were targeted by these two individuals. Thankfully the victims were not seriously hurt, but understandably shaken up by the experience.
“Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has any knowledge of this matter to come forward. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Bideford CID on 01237 427562 quoting crime reference CR/085529/18.”
