From Devon & Cornwall Police:
Police were called at around 11.15pm on Monday 2 September to the A30 near Chiverton Cross, Truro, following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency services attended the incident, on the A30 Single carriageway, at the junction of an unclassified road that leads to the A390. The collision was reported to have involved a red car and a white panel van.
An 18-year-old male, local to the Truro area, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Derriford hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Local Police Officers and Specialist officers from the Roads Policing Team and Armed Response Unit attended the scene, put in road closures and launched a full forensic examination.
