Serious collision, Wadebridge

Police were called at around 11:25 am on Tuesday 9 October with reports of a Honda Jazz having a pedestrian; the vehicle had continued over the pavement and collided with the gable end of a house, causing extensive damage on Southern Way, Wadebridge.

Emergency services including Fire and Ambulance all in attendance.

The driver, a 77-year-old man was initially trapped but was later freed. He was taken to Treliske Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old man is being treated for serious, possibly life-threatening injuries and was air-lifted to Derriford Hospital where he remains.

Localised closures were in place whilst emergency services tended to this incident.

Local officers as well as Officers from the Roads Policing Team, and Serious Collison Investigation Team attended the scene. Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting log number 295 for the 9th of October.
