Serious collision closes link road for 6 hours

From Devon & Cornwall Police:

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A361 today (Friday 6 July).

At approximately 6:45am a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A361 eastbound at Knowstone,  South Molton.

A silver coloured Jaguar X-Type left the carriageway for reasons unknown at this time and came to rest in a ditch.

As a result of the collision a 42-year-old lady, a 49-year-old man and a 7-year-old boy all from the Kettering area were injured in the collision.

The man and woman sustained received serious injuries and were airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where they are undergoing surgery.

The child sustained very minor injuries and is currently at Derriford Hospital being treated for shock.

The road was closed for six hours whilst a full investigation of the scene took place.
