Screen printing at Bedruthan

Learn how to screen print whilst gazing out at a stunning sea view from Bedruthan’s craft studio.

These taster and full-day workshops are a perfect opportunity to see how screen-printing works, ask questions and create a range of prints to take home.

The workshops are tailored for beginners and suitable for all ages, meaning they are a great idea for families, couples or groups of friends wanting to do something a little different together.

Visitors can choose from a morning taster session or a full day workshop, which includes refreshments throughout the day, a warming soup lunch and all materials required to transform stencil designs into unique prints.

Even though materials are provided, crafters are encouraged to bring along any visual ideas to help inspire some creativity, as well as any additional paper or fabric to apply a design onto.

The workshop is run by printmaker and designer Dena O’Brien, of Kiwi Print Studios, who will guide wannabe designers through each step.

Kiwi is a professional printmaking studio situated in the heart of Cornwall. Dena began her career in printmaking after studying a master’s degree in Print at the Royal College of Art in London.

Dena creates playful timeless pieces inspired by the Cornish landscape and wildlife. She also has a passion for all things print-based and a wealth of printing knowledge under her belt.

Eve Butler, Brand Manager for Red Hotels, said: “These workshops are a lovely opportunity to simply relax and get creative. Dena is a great local artist and we love having her here passing her knowledge onto others.

“We really enjoy putting on these workshops to allow people to come and take part in something creative whilst surrounded by the beautiful Cornish coast.”

Artists should come prepared with an apron and wear suitable clothing for the activities.

Taster screen printing classes are available on May 26 from 10am-1pm and June 24 from 10am-1pm and cost £35. One-day screen printing workshops are available on September 15 and October 7 from 10am-4pm and cost £70.
