Royal Naval Association meeting

By Bob Gelder:

Nineteen attendees for the October Branch Meeting were brought to order promptly at 19.30 by the Chairman in the customary manner, with new members to the Branch  welcomed.

With 7 “apologies” received, it was quite a full agenda.

Those present were brought fully up to date regarding recent members of Bude Branch.

Financially, the Branch was healthy with the Branch voluntary donations being extended to allow personal choice of £5 or above.    Arrangements for Bude Armistice Parade were discussed with a volunteer for one year’s Standard Bearing duties secured.

Volunteers for November Raffle are: s/ms Wayne Philp, Binzy Reynolds, Keith & Gloria Richards, Paul Sampson, Eddie Tilbey plus voluntary contributions.
Regrettably, the proposed Trafalgar Night Dinner has been shelved due to low response due to various reasons.
The Branch look forward to a Guest Speaker at November Meeting:    Rosemary Lee who would take us all up the Amazon, from 19.30 – 20.00    Please be seated by 19.25
Membership remained a strong point – but there’s always room and a warm welcome for all new faces.
Assistance and support was requested by this year’s Poppy Appeal organiser, Dave Worth (07733-322666) between 8th – 13th November.    Please contact Dave direct.
Finally, the Loyal Toast to The Queen & The Duke of Cornwall, kindly sponsored by Stuart Parrott on the night, the Chairman closed event at 20.14
The ensuing Raffle & Auction was generously supported, as always.
