Rodda’s to triple refillable milk stations

Dairy company, Rodda’s, is to triple the number of refillable milk stations across independent retailers in Cornwall. Launched last year, Rodda’s currently has 31 stations in Cornwall

They say:

Our Milk Refill Stations are helping local businesses see a reduction in the use of plastic milk bottles, whilst allowing customers to enjoy our deliciously creamy ‘local’s milk’.

Many of the stations have traditional glass milk bottles which customers can purchase or there is the option of bringing your own bottle, which can be refilled with Cornish milk which is sourced from Cornish farms within 30 miles of our Creamery in Scorrier.

Almost 36 million plastic bottles are used every day in the UK yet less than 20 million are recycled with the remainder going to landfill. Working with these businesses Rodda’s hopes that its refill machine is a small step to reducing unnecessary plastic waste.

Some have even crossed the Tamar as my local village shop has one! I understand the milk is semi-skimmed so if you are a full-fat or skimmed preferer, it won’t work for you but most people seem to do semi-skimmed these days.
