For some reason, numbers of Covid cases in Cornwall have risen dramatically in the 7 days to 30th September, with total cases at 2478, a rise of 33.6%. The case rate per hundred thousand people is 430.6, not as high as it has been, and is presumably linked with less mask wearing, schools reopening, and more indoor events.
In Bude, case numbers reached 37, while Poundstock and Kilkhampton sat at 36.
Devon numbers were 2520, a case rate of 310.8, so lower than neighbouring Cornwall.
Particular Cornwall hotspots seem to be Camborne and St Agnes areas, shown in dark purple on the map.
Hospitalisations and deaths remain relatively low.
