Restrictions on Tamar Bridge

If you have to travel today in these high winds, bear in mind that, in the south, there are restrictions on the A38 Tamar Bridge in both directions at Saltash, (near Plymouth), due to Strong Winds.

High-sided and vulnerable vehicles are currently restricted from crossing the bridge.

Vulnerable vehicles include motorcycles, caravans and any vehicle liable to be affected by cross winds.

High sided and vulnerable vehicles are being diverted westbound via the A386 to Tavistock then the A390 to Callington and the A388 to re-join the A38 at Pillmere.

Eastbound traffic is the same diversion in reverse A388 – A390 – A386.

The eastbound traffic travelling from further afield is being advised to use the A30.
