North Devon Council and Torridge District Council will be at this year’s North Devon Show, with the main focus being to provide advice and information on waste and recycling.

This year’s show is taking place on Wednesday 6 August at Umberleigh Barton Farm, Umberleigh.

As well as details about kerbside recycling in North Devon and Torridge, visitors will be able to:

  • find out about waste and recycling collections for local businesses
  • order home composters at a discounted price
  • find out about changes to the electoral registration system
  • plus for children, there will be colouring and fun quizzes

Council officers will also be on hand to answer any questions and offer advice about other council services.

Leader of North Devon Council, Councillor Brian Greenslade says: “The North Devon Show is a great opportunity for local residents to come and find out about our council services. Whether it’s how to make the most of food waste recycling to what you need to know about Individual Electoral Registration – we’ll be on hand to answer your questions and offer advice.”

Leader of Torridge District Council, Councillor Philip Collins, says: “We are always keen to get feedback from members of the public and these shows give us an opportunity to talk to people that otherwise we might never be able to.”

The councils will be located in one of the trade stand areas, with the stand open from 9am to 5.30pm.
