Yesterday, the government made this announcement, shortly after the Queen’s address to the nation was televised.
On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests.
This is a precautionary step, as the Prime Minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus.
The Prime Minister thanks NHS staff for all of their incredible hard work and urges the public to continue to follow the Government’s advice to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
Whatever one’s politics, no one wants coronavirus. We all knew Boris Johnson had a bad case of it when Matt Hancock appeared back in the saddle of government and he didn’t. No one is admitted to hospital at these times unless needed, so the Prime Minister is pretty ill, and we at Bude & Beyond wish him a speedy recovery.
