Postage stamp price rise

I ordered some gift vouchers recently which were posted to me but never arrived. The company kindly resent them recorded delivery this time (cost £1.90) and they arrived but I’d like to see greater reliability. Is it only signed for items and junk mail which is delivered?

Royal Mail has said it will increase the price of first-class and second class stamps.

The postal firm said the price of a first-class stamp will jump 6p to 76p and the price of a second class stamp will rise 4p to 65p from March 23. It would be nice if mail actually arrived. Where does it go? I will try not to moan at the lovely people in post offices but now I always, always ask for a certificate of posting.

The company said the price increases are “necessary” to ensure the sustainability of its universal service. Hmn.
