Police seek witnesses to collision near Bodmin where man died

A man who lost his life following a serious collision on the A38 at Glynn Valley on Bank Holiday has been identified as 72-year-old Michael Ryan from Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.15am on Monday 28 May to reports that a Land Rover and a Volvo flatbed had collided on the A38 at Newbridge Cross near Bodmin.

The driver of the Land Rover, Mr Ryan, died as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin were informed and formal identification took place.

A female passenger of the Land Rover was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A full investigation of the scene was completed and enquiries are continuing to determine the cause of this collision.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses to contact them via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting log number 360 of 28/5/2018.
