Police appeal for crash witnesses

A second driver has died following a serious two-vehicle collision between Bodmin and Camelford last week.

Emergency services were called around 12.10pm on Friday [19 January] after a collision between a silver Skoda Fabia and a blue Citroen Xsara Picasso on the B3266.

The Skoda driver, a 34-year-old woman from Bodmin, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Citroen, a 30-year-old man from St Austell, suffered multiple serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. He died of his injuries in hospital on Wednesday [24 January].

Two other women, both passengers in the Citroen, were also injured in the collision and were taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

Officers are asking witnesses with information, especially if they were in the area before or during the incident, to contact police via 101@dc.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting log number 288 19/01/18.
