National Lottery winners in beach clean up

2 – Minute Beach Clean HQ was thrilled to be able to host a  beach clean for lucky SW National Lottery winners this week.

12 winners came from all over the Southwest and met the charity at HQ in Bude for a morning of nurdle hunting. Nurdles are tiny, toxic pieces of plastic. Due to their size, and often clear colour, nurdles can look like fish eggs or other small animals which makes them particularly attractive to seabirds, fish and other marine wildlife, who ingest them, harming both the animals and in some cases entering the human food chain.

After dodging the thunder and lightning, a great morning was had by all, and thousands of tiny microplastics were removed from the environment.

A massive well done to The National Lottery winners and Camelot.
