Men in Court After Work-Related Death, Cornwall

DCImageResizerThree men are due to appear in court on Tuesday 5 August following a protracted enquiry into the death of a man in Cornwall in 2011.

The men have been summonsed to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court for offences in relation to the death of Jason Morgan (pictured) on 13 June 2011. 

Jason, 33 and from the Bristol area, attended Great Brynn Barton Farm, Roche, to install safety netting.

Roger Matthews, 47, from St Ervan, Wadebridge, has been summonsed for the manslaughter by gross negligence of Jason Morgan.

Norman Treseder, 54, from Wendron, Helston, has been summonsed for the manslaughter by gross negligence of Jason Morgan.

Philip Tucker, 57, from St Wenn, Bodmin has been summonsed for health and safety offences.

Matthews Plant Hire Ltd has been summonsed for health and safety offences.

This follows a joint investigation conducted by officers from Cornwall’s Major Crime investigation Team and the Health and Safety Executive to ascertain the circumstances of the death.
