After receiving a number of calls at 12:20 pm on 5th November, the Critical Control Centre mobilised three appliances from Delabole, Wadebridge and Bodmin Community Fire Stations to reports of a fire in a house near Tintagel Brewery. A water-carrier from Wadebridge was mobilised due to poor water supply. The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen and spread to the roof space.
By around 5.30 pm, an appliance was mobilised from Bude to the scene provide relief cover to the other crews who had been fighting the fire since 12:20 pm. To ensure fire cover was maintained in the Bude area, another crew remained available. At 20:26 another 999 call was received and the second crew from Bude was sent to a bin on fire in Bude. The bin was promptly extinguished and crews returned to home station.
Meanwhile, the original crew covering the fire at Tintagel returned to the home station at approximately 01:30 am after being relieved by a crew from St Columb Fire Station.
