Margaret’s final journey

A fond farewell to Margaret Frost today. The mayor of Bude & Stratton has outlined on his Facebook page proceedings which I’ll post here having been asked about them:

A Celebration for the life of Margaret Frost BEM will be held at Bude Methodist Church, on Saturday 11th January 2020 at 11.00 am.

No mourning clothes, please wear something colourful. If you are RNLI, British Legion, lifeguards or Surf club etc please wear your club colours.

After the church service, Margaret will be processed through town, led by the Bude Town Band, on a hand-pushed Funeral Bier. Travelling from Neetside, along the Cresent, along the Strand then up Belle Vue where she will be transferred to a hearse to take her to her last resting place in St Olafs, Poughill. Michelle would like any Bude group who would like to join in and take it in turns to push her on her last journey through town to contact me to coordinate changeovers etc.

It would be great to line the streets as she travels through town.

The wake will be at the Falcon Hotel after the burial service but if people choose not to go to Poughill they will be welcome earlier.

So many people that I have spoken to have shared their stories with me about Margaret. If people would like to write their memories down on one side of A4, I will collate them into a book for Michelle. This will be scanned and produced as a pdf for all participants to have a copy.
