Man who died named following Wadebridge collision

A man who died following a collision in Wadebridge has now been named.

The Police were called at around 11:25 am on Tuesday 9 October with reports of a Honda Jazz in a collision with a pedestrian; the vehicle had continued over the pavement and collided with the gable end of a house, causing extensive damage on Southern Way, Wadebridge.

Emergency services including Fire and Ambulance all attended.

Graham Brinsden, an 80-year-old pedestrian, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital having sustained critical injuries; he later died in hospital on Wednesday 10 October.

The driver, a 77-year-old man was initially trapped but was later freed. He was taken to Treliske Hospital.

Localised closures were in place whilst emergency services tended to this incident.

Local officers as well as Officers from the Roads Policing Team, and Serious Collison Investigation Team attended the scene. Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting log number 295 for the 9th of October.
