Man found dead on A30 was from Launceston

Shortly before 5.20am on Friday 14 August, a fatal incident occurred on the A30 eastbound carriageway at Launceston, below Hurdon Overbridge, just prior to the off slip leading to the A388.

Tragically, as a result of the incident, a male pedestrian was pronounced as deceased at the scene.

The man was identified as Michael Ronald Pyke, 47, who came from Launceston.

An inquest into Mr Pyke’s death was opened and adjourned at Cornwall Coroner’s Court today, August 28.

A full inquest will be held at a later date to establish the circumstances.
