Make the most of today, as there will be a very different picture by 5 pm when we start feeling the effects of Storm Lorenzo. Heavy rain is forecast for Bude this evening.
On Friday, around Bude, there is a yellow weather warning in force but for strong winds. This could cause transport disruption. The Met Office says:
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
- Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
- It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are affected by spray and/or large waves
Netweather says: It’s Ireland which will meet it at it’s worst with gusts of 70-80mph+ possible in western coastal counties. Northern Ireland, western Scotland, northwest England, south Wales and southwest England will also get in on the act during the next 48 hours, with gusts of around 55-65mph in exposed places.
Don’t worry, the storm will blow over by the weekend though the outlook remains dull and changeable. Yesterday was gorgeous, so hope some of that is thrown into the mix, too!
