Originally built in 1848 on land given by Sir Thomas Acland to his daughter on her marriage to Arthur Mills, MP for Taunton, this shows Efford Down House in the 1900’s. In 1932 the house was bought by the Keat family and run as a hotel for many years, until its eventual conversion – along with so many of Bude’s former hotels – into flats at the end of the 20th century.
