Lest We Forget – WWI Tommy statue unveiled in Kilkhampton

A  statue, both evocative and poignant was commissioned by Kilkhampton Parish Council. Here it is.

The statue of a WWI Tommy was unveiled yesterday. It is really worth a visit to see it for all its detail.

For the next two weeks, it will be outside St James the Great Church before being moved inside. What a beautiful memorial. Well done, Kilkhampton.

What a wonderful tribute, and well done to those responsible for it and to ‘Bude and Beyond’ for publicising it. However, please provide more information about who created it, the materials used and the manufacturing process. My wife and I paused beside it yesterday on our way to the Service of Remembrance at Morwenstow, and the statue and the War Memorial looked magnificent in the early morning sunshine.
