Large barn fire, Launceston

At 13:45 the Critical Control Centre received a number of emergency calls reporting an agricultural fire in Launceston.

Initially, two appliances from Launceston were mobilised. On arrival, the crews confirmed smoke issuing and request assistance from a further 3 appliances and a water carrier. Following this, further appliances from Bodmin, Callington and Delabole were mobilised with a water carrier from Liskeard.

Shortly after, further assistance was requested and appliances from Bude and Liskeard were mobilised.

Crews report an agricultural building measuring approx. 30m by 20m fully engulfed in fire. Various farming machinery, wood and cylinders are inside.

In total, 8 appliances, 4 officers, 1 water carrier, 1 operational support vehicle, 1 incident command unit, 1 environmental support vehicle and a welfare unit are assisting.
