Jaunty Seagull opened it’s doors at the end of March this year. If you haven’t been inside this delightful little store on Queen Street in town, you are in for a lovely surprise as many visitors have already discovered!
Specialising in hand made Cornish gifts and homeware, the store is full of wonderful things. Among the displays you will find jewellery, cushions, glassware, soap and pottery. I am also delighted to be one of the local artists who supply Jaunty Seagull with a selection of my cards taken from my original watercolour paintings.
Jo Fowler, who owns the store, has created her own Jaunty Seagull (in fabric) which is proving to be very popular with customers. There is however another Seagull on the premises, who also delights those who browse the store! Jo frequently hears laughter when visitors come across Sidney Seagull (seen below). A new stock of Sidney and a couple of his new friends (a shark and an octopus) are now available in-store. There will also shortly be available a ‘Festive Sidney’ in time for Christmas and a ‘Sidney on Holiday card’, not that success is going to his head but he is proving to be a popular guy!Jo has just finished decorating the Jaunty Seagull window with a special display for Bude Carnival weekend; it’s guaranteed to be bright and cheerful just like the Carnival, whatever the weather!
