It’s getting better and better at Bellini’s

When I pop into Bellini’s now, it is a little like Christmas. What will be the latest artisan product to unwrap?

I joined the queue this morning and came out with a Morsbag full of goodies for my visitors. New in, is Vicky’s Bread, for slow rise, French-style breads … had some sourdough and soup for lunch, which was delicious.

I’m very keen to try Whalesborough Cheese’s Sergeant Pepper, available only at Bellini’s, so I have some of that, too, along with pesto and tapenade, foccaccia, buffalo mozzarella, fresh free range eggs, and honey yoghurt. You can order online and collect, too.

They describe Sergeant Pepper, made by Sue Proudfoot, as a stunning combination of her award winning Cornish Crumbly, marbled like the Cornish Smuggler with fresh green peppercorns, it gives a gentle kick in the pants without taking away for the delicious mellow, creamy cheese …

On the website, Bellini’s explain their ethos:

Proud to support local suppliers

In early 2020, with the enforced closure of restaurants and cafes, we made the transition to becoming a deli.

We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from locals and visitors alike. We have enjoyed meeting new suppliers and discovering the truly fantastic produce available locally.

We offer a wide range of produce, including fresh fruit and vegetables, organic breads, charcuterie, smoked fish, meats, artisan gin, rum, wines, teas and coffee. Our products are available in store and online.

And a mighty fine job they have made of it, too!  Loving the good food but also the leisurely shopping experience and knowledgeable owners. I still miss the cafe though, but must thank Adam and Anna for continuing to Sponsor Bude & Beyond during lockdown.
