On Thursday 2nd January, a piece of a phone (the back piece) was found on a beach in Bude, which Police queried. Did it belong to missing person, Ricky Gamage?
Family member, Nicole Rachel on Facebook wrote: “Of course all of our family’s hearts sunk when we heard the news. However, because it is only the back of a phone there is absolutely no way to identify whether it was Ricky’s or not, or even if it is something that has been there for months and only just been found. We have seen this piece of the phone, and do not believe it to be Rick’s – we think it’s a completely different colour to his phone.
Of course, the police have had to follow this up – they were doing searches yesterday with another diving team/coastguard etc along the beaches/cliffs and nothing was found. They are doing similar searches today.
The police are not only focusing on the cliff/beach area of Bude – they are continuing to follow up possible sightings. We had one in Glastonbury yesterday which the police followed up but by the time they got there the man had left.
As a family, we are not giving up hope and we will continue to stick together until Ricky is found. None of the possible sightings would have happened if it wasn’t for all the shares on Facebook, so please continue to share.
Remember, any possible sightings please report to the police with log number 897 on 28/12/19 with Devon and Cornwall Police.
Thank you, everyone, for your support and well wishes for Ricky. Let’s get him home now, this has been going on long enough.”
Ricky was last seen leaving The Venue in the town at around 8.35 pm on Saturday 28 December.
