Intensive rabbit farm plan refused

An application for an intensive rabbit farm in Cornwall has been refused by Cornwall Council, and people who started a petition, which has so far obtained nearly 39 thousand signatures, are thrilled. If there is an appeal, they plan to fight on.

The plan was submitted by Phil Kerry of T&S Nurseries, to open an intensive rabbit farming facility in Falmouth, Cornwall.

The plan was for 250 female rabbits to produce upwards of 10,000 rabbits per year for the meat and fur industry.

The proposed location near Tregunwith Wood, sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The facility would also have bordered the south-western shore of Restronguet Creek.
