Fire appliances from Holsworthy, Hatherleigh and Bude were mobilised to a report of a fire in a domestic property at North Road in the early hours of the morning of 7th May.
The incident involved a fire in a ground floor flat of a 4 storey building, approximately 10m x 10m.
The flat was 100% damaged by fire and smoke, the remainder of the building approximately 10% damaged by smoke. 4 breathing apparatus wearers, 2 hosereel jets and 1 covering jet were used to extinguish the fire.
Two thermal image cameras were used to check for hotspots. One male casualty received treatment from ambulance personnel for smoke inhalation. A fire investigation was carried out, with the cause being believed as deliberate. Police also attended.
